The Norwich Pipe Band led the 2018 Sheringham Carnival Parade on Wednesday evening. The picture shows the procession passing Whitehall Yard, on the right of the picture, giving a wonderful view for guests at Captain’s Cottage and Bosun’s Cottage self-catering holiday cottages on the right of the picture.
The parade prompted many local organisations to enter floats, historic vehicles and marching groups into this annual event. Many of the floats featured music, some recorded, some live, including a London based steel-drum band. Dance troupes were in evidence, ranging from the local School of Dance, through 1950’s jive, to our regular beautiful Samba dance girls.
The Sheringham RNLI, as always, had a presence in the parade and were accompanied by Stormy Sam who gave out badges, stickers and lollipops to the watching children (and to some pretty young women) with the hope that they would visit the station before their holiday was over.
Carnival week is a popular event for visitors and some self-catering cottages are already being booked for 2019.
